Marek Bałata
A graphic artist and a jazz vocalist. He studied at the Graphic Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, and graduated with a diploma from the studio of Prof. Mieczysław Wejman in 1980. He specializes in drawing in mixed technique, using a thick expressive line to obtain a multileveled, raster matter with an object set in it. He received awards in the competitions: the 1st Winter Exhibition of Drawings Cracow '81 and the Best Graphic of the Month Cracow '81. He exhibited his paintings and drawings in the galleries and cultural centers of France, Germany, Bulgaria and Poland, and he often combined the opening of his exhibitions with multimedia spectacles, containing his own vocal concerts, drawing, dancing and video projects.
